This beginning of November is very good to us, despite the cold weather, because Sibiu’s agenda is full again. From ballet to horror parties, all the evenings are filled with excitement. And we’re more than happy to tell you all about it!

Several ethnicities, the same festival

November 5th to 12th Sibiu welcomes again the Hungarian culture – the “Ars HUNGARICA” Festival. The organisers say that it is the event that presents and represents Hungarian heritage, traditions and culture in a multicultural way, by opening up to other ethnicities.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased from the HID Association – Sibiu Cultural Center (2, Berăriei Street, 2nd floor) until November 3rd at the price of 40 lei / person and 30 lei for students and retirees. For those under 18, the entrance is free of charge. The ticket guarantees entry and reservation of all venues in theatres. In the case of night concerts, the voucher provides the entrance, and reservations are made at the following telephone numbers: 0723.287486 – Atrium and 0752.195942 – Music Pub.

How to eat good and like a real gypsy

November 2nd to 5th, the “Gypsy Gastronomic Feast” takes place in the heart of Sibiu. The event is at its first edition and is organised by the International Romani Union – IRU Association in collaboration with the Sibiu City Hall. The festival allows us to find out as many fascinating things about the colourful cuisine of the Roma people. Tasting at the event is free. The organisers announce that during the whole period of the festival, 27 parking spaces in the Small Square will be restricted for the good management of this event.

One-man show at Gong

On Sunday, November 5th, at the “Gong” Theatre for Children and Youth, the “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” choreographic theatre performance comes to the stage once again, after it has been staged for the first time at this year’s edition of the “George Enescu” International Festival.  mozart

It starts at 19:00 and it is Lari Georgescu’s one-man show based on W.A. Mozart’s music and Gigi Căciuleanu’s lyrics, as well as upon a fragment of the original “Dell’arte” comedy script belonging to Mozart. We are talking about a bold and unprecedented approach, an insight into the world of Mozart’s genius. The show lasts for one hour and ten minutes and is recommended for young people over the age of 12. Public access is based on tickets. The price of a ticket is 9 lei, a single tariff, for tickets purchased at the theatre or at Humanitas bookstores. For tickets purchased online and in the Eventim network, a 10% commission is charged.

“Baiadera” – ballet and a nineteenth century story

Monday, November 6, at the “Radu Stanca” Theater, at 19:00, we invite you to “Baiadera”, a classic ballet act that has premiered last month in Sibiu

sibiu balletThe story of this show begins on February 4th 1877 at the Imperial Grand Theatre in St. Petersburg when its world premiere took place. It is a typical creation of that period that brings to the fore in India the conflicts of romantic ballet in which love, jealousy, intrigue, crime and revenge combine. After the show we can talk about ballet at the superlative.

Tickets can be purchased from the point of sale located in Piaţa Mare, within the Tourist Information Center, Sibiu City Hall, entrance F or online, at the same prices as at the point of sale, without any additional commission on kompostor.ro and bilet.ro.

Tickets can also be reserved for forty-eight hours online on the official TBS website or by phone 0269 229 627. But bare in mind that online and phone bookings, which are not confirmed by payment within forty-eight hours, are invalidated.

All about the guitar

The story of the guitar” is a music and theatre show that takes place at the Thalia Hall on Wednesday, November 8th at 19:00. We are talking about two hours of tribute to the guitar and to all the artists who have played this awesome instrument. At the same time, at 19:00 at Thalia Hall, there is also a chamber recital by soloists Cristian Florea (cello) and Mihai Ungureanu (piano), who will perform the Brahms Sonatas.

Marius Mihalache is back at Atrium

Looking for a cool concert? Friday, 3 November 3rd, at 21:00, you can watch Marius Mihalache and his band in action, at Atrium. They’re going to take us back in time to the 1920’s and 40’s, the time of lively swing, frenzied dance and the stylish wear. The organisers say it’s a moody and improvised story on the band’s accords. An impossible proposal to refuse.
